What Colors Will Be Popular in 2022?

Here are the latest colors of the year from Benjamin Moore and Sherman-Williams

If you’re reading this, then it’s already 2022. The year just started, but companies have already started revealing their themes for the year, including paint companies. Today I want to go over what their colors of the year will be for 2022.

You may have heard from me and other agents before that neutral colors are best when selling your home. This is still true, but today we’re talking about something a little different. This topic is more about what colors are trendy and why they are having their moment.

For example, Benjamin Moore’s color of 2022 is October Mist. They describe it as harmonious yet diverse, reliable yet whimsical, and meditative yet eclectic. Of course, to truly learn what this color looks like, you can take a look at 1:12 in my video. This color works so well because it provides some flavor to an otherwise neutral house while still letting in plenty of light.

"Homeowners are moving towards shades of green for a sense of security and grounding."

October Mist might be the color of the year, but there are still honorable mentions. There is Mysterious, a deep-blue and grey color that pairs well with a white ceiling and trim. Gloucester Sage is another darker shade, but it isn’t quite as extreme as Mysterious. As far as lighter colors go, Benjamin Moore recommends shades such as Morning Dew, Collector’s Item, Hint of Violet, Quiet Moments, and Natural Linen.

Next, let’s move on to Sherman-Williams. With the stress of the pandemic still looming, they found homeowners are moving towards shades of green for a sense of security and grounding. That’s why they choose Evergreen Fog, a calming mix of green, grey, and a touch of blue.

Hopefully, you found this topic useful. If you have any questions about buying or selling a home, please reach out to me via phone or email. I’d love to hear from you!
